Hurdsfield Primary School has a simple aim to ensure that every learner receives nothing short of the best!  We are a truly inclusive school that provides a challenge for all to ensure that everyone can not only achieve their best but aspires and can achieve even more.  Below is a summary of what we feel makes Hurdsfield Primary School and Nursery the number one choice for parents/carers.  The results are based on 30 responses to our survey which represent 52 children across the school.  Key: 3% = 1 person.

  • A challenging, progressive, exciting and engaging new curriculum for all children which balances traditional curriculum drivers with moral values to provide a truly rounded curriculum.  We are proud to place develop and apply excellent skills in reading, writing and mathematics to all areas of our curriculum.
  • Dedication to outdoor learning signalled by our Fantastic Forest School Provision - led by in-house staff.
  • A strong focus on promoting the emotional mental health of our children via curriculum lessons, staffing and weekly yoga sessions for ALL pupils from Reception to Year 6.
  • Regular exciting visitors into the school from a range of professions and skill-sets.
  • IGNITION into learning days every three weeks - providing a purpose for learning and setting our high expectations!
  • Wider curriculum: An exciting and developing range of After School Clubs run by professionals in their field to ensure that your child receives the best coaching and expertise.
  • Wider curriculum: Residential Visits and a range of exciting educational visits to support learning in the classroom!  This provision is expanding in 2019-2020 with residential experiences for all of our children from Year 1 to Year 6!
  • Spanish Teaching for all pupils in Year 3-6 led by a specialist and experienced Spanish teacher.
