Welcome to Our Early Years at Hurdsfield Primary School

At Hurdsfield Primary School, we are proud to offer a nurturing and inspiring start to your child’s learning journey in our school-based Nursery. Our Early Years provision welcomes children from age 2 to 4, providing a safe, stimulating environment where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which underpins everything we do. Through carefully planned play and exploration, children develop the essential skills, knowledge, and understanding they need to succeed. From building language and communication skills to fostering curiosity in early maths and literacy, our approach ensures that learning is both meaningful and fun.

Our experienced team creates opportunities for children to learn through play, develop independence, and build positive relationships. We focus on the prime areas of development—Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical Development—while introducing the specific areas such as Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.

By the time children move into Reception, they are well-prepared to achieve a Good Level of Development, giving them the best possible start to their school life. We believe that every child deserves to feel confident, happy, and ready for the exciting challenges ahead.
