At Hurdsfield we celebrate and promote all that makes us unique and different but also understand that everyone is equal.  Tolerance and mutual respect for everyone in our school and the wider community are actively encouraged in school. We are proud of our inclusive ethos which places extremely high and uncompromising expectations at the centre of our learning environment, teaching and learning, curriculum, as well as constant challenge for all at the heart of everything we do. 

Our school strongly believes that, regardless of previous starting points or barriers to learning, each child has the potential to succeed and it is our job to make sure that they do!   We model and expect excellence in everything that we do and ensure that every child aspires to be successful.  All of our staff have high aspirations for every learner as well as themselves and realise that challenge alongside practice, patience, effort and encouragement is essential for continued success.

We embrace the power of the word 'yet' and explicitly teach that making mistakes and learning from them is essential for learning and growth - both academically and personally.  

Our school motto 'At Hurdsfield: only our best will do!' is underpinned by core learning values of respect, challenge, resilience, reflection, encouragement and global citizenship.  These form the basis of our academic and values-driven curriculum drivers and are core elements of our curriculum offer.
