Pupil Voice Matters: Learning Council

Meet our Learning Council for 2019-2020

We are proud to place the needs of the pupils at the heart of our school improvement agenda and one way in which we do this at Hurdsfield is by our Learning Council.

Our Learning Council has been set up to ensure that there is a permanent pupil perspective and input into what makes fantastic learning at Hurdsfield. The aim of the council is to ensure the children become an active part in the design and development of the learning process with a focus on reading, lesson content and structure and wider personal development of each pupil. Mrs. Wales will be leading the council and will facilitate meetings every two weeks.

The Learning Council will focus on the following themes over this academic year:

  • How can we continue to promote reading for pleasure for everyone in our school?
  • I learn best when…
    • Ideal teaching, classroom layout and lessons.
  • How can we make sure that every child understands our motto “only our best will do”?
  • What does ‘Going for Gold’ mean at Hurdsfield?

Their focus for this term is: “How can we continue to promote reading for pleasure for every pupil at Hurdsfield?”.

At Hurdsfield: only our best will do!
