Our Ethos and Values

At Hurdsfield Primary School EVERY child really does matter!

At Hurdsfield we celebrate and promote all that makes us unique and different but also understand that everyone is equal.  Tolerance and mutual respect for everyone in our school and wider community is actively encouraged in school. We are proud of our inclusive ethos which places high expectations of our learning environment, behaviour, teaching and learning and curriculum as well as constant challenge for all at the heart of all we do.

Our school strongly believes that, regardless of previous starting points or barriers to learning, each child has the potential to succeed and it is our job to make sure that they do!   We model and expect excellence in everything that we do and ensure that every child aspires to be successful.  All of our staff have high aspirations for every learner as well as themselves and realise that challenge alongside practise, patience, effort and encouragement is essential for continued success.

We embrace the power of the word 'yet' and realise that making mistakes and learning from them are essential for learning and growth both academically and personally.

At Hurdsfield: ‘Only our best will do!’

We provide our children with a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum which embraces the development of the whole child.  We celebrate and promote our British heritage and the values of democracy, the rule of law, our individuality and freedom as well as mutual respect and tolerance for all.

Upon entry into Hurdsfield, our experienced team, led by Mrs Amanda White, makes sure that every child gets off to a flying start. We work closely with parents and fully engage with them at every stage of their child’s development and provide each learner with the building blocks for continued success.

Our SEND Leader, Mrs Sally Brownhill, has a wealth of experience in ensuring that the children in our school can access wide ranging support to stop any children falling behind their peers.

As your child enters Key Stage 2, Miss Vicky Norfolk and her team continue to provide enriched curriculum experiences and the highest quality teaching and learning to all.

Don’t just take our word for it, come and see for yourselves!
